MISSION STATEMENT:
Service Dogs of America is dedicated to developing, preserving
and using a canine's natural instincts, intelligence and tractability to perform meaningful,
utilitarian tasks for mankind. The organization is comprised of individual members and
affiliated local dog-training clubs. Its goal is to use proven common sense methods for
training both canine and handler while maximizing the social, family orientation and sport
aspects of dog training along with an evaluation of working ability to maintain and improve
breeding stock to conform to a canine's original purpose and function.
PIONEERING DOG SPORT!
The United States of America now has its first and only working dog organization that recognizes Protection and Police Patrol K-9 titles through a National Registry, the United Kennel Club. The United Kennel Club refers to this program as its "Dog Sport Program."
SDA, affiliated with the United Kennel Club, is responsible for conducting trials and events for the Dog Sport program. The Dog Sport Program offers a wide variety of training titles through the United Kennel Club that include the following:
- One Practical basic obedience title as a prerequisite to the other protection and obedience titles offered.
- One Non-Griping Protection Alert title for personal and family protection.
- Three griping Protection titles for personal and family protection.
- Two Police Patrol K-9 titles.
- Five progressively advanced Obedience titles.

ADDITIONALLY, SERVICE DOGS OF AMERICA
OFFERS THE FOLLOWING SDA TITLES
- Four SAR titles for prospective Search & Rescue teams.
- Three Tracking titles.
- Three Article Search titles.
- A unique obedience title - "Mixed Obedience."
